Juice flying, cheers echoing, and competitors giving it their all, the battle to be the winner of the watermelon eating competition was fierce. The bragging rights were enormous, and the crowd loved every second of it!
Events like these are what make our community so special. We’re incredibly proud to support local traditions that bring people together and celebrate what makes the Northern Rivers unique.
For years, the Kyogle Festival has showcased the best of our region’s agricultural talent, whether it’s growing record-breaking produce or devouring it at lightning speed. Back in 2021, the festival made headlines with a whopping 867 kg pumpkin. While no new records were broken this year, the spirit of friendly competition and celebration was stronger than ever.
As proud sponsors of the Watermelon Eating Competition, we had front-row seats to one of the festival’s most entertaining (and messiest) events. The challenge? Eat as much watermelon as possible in just 30 seconds.
To everyone who participated, cheered, and helped make the festival such a success – thank you! We can’t wait to do it all again next year. Until then, keep practising your watermelon-eating skills… you never know when they might come in handy!
The Kyogle Giant Pumpkin and Watermelon Festival is held in January each year providing a day of fun, laughter, and impressive fruit-based feats! From mammoth pumpkins to speed-eating watermelon champions, this beloved local event proved why it’s a favourite on the Northern Rivers calendar.
