Before you send money overseas!
Are you sure you are not the victim of fraud? We have valuable advice on how to detect and protect yourself from scams

Telegraphic Transfer
A Telegraphic Transfer (TT) – also known as a Wire – is a fast way to send money to an overseas bank account. It usually takes two to three days** for your TT payment to reach the beneficiary’s account and you can send money in more than 40 currencies. If you’re organising a gift at the last minute and need to get it there fast, this is probably your best option. Just provide us with the recipient account and address details, and we’ll do the rest.
Branch Assisted
If you have decided that a TT is the payment method for you and would like assistance, please contact a branch or call us on 1300 802 222 to organise your transfer.
What details do you need to send a Telegraphic Transfer?
You will need to provide details of the beneficiary's bank account, street address, their International Bank Account Number (IBAN) and Swift code.
No symbols can be used in the beneficiary name (e.g. "&", "/" etc)
We are unable to send funds to certain countries – view list of countries we cannot transfer to.
Download our order form, which can be printed or emailed to Summerland.
**Please note that TTs are sent via a network of correspondent banks, which sometimes levy a small handling charge on your payment. Any such fees, and payment delays, are out of our control.
Drafts
Drafts are like an international bank cheque, made out to the beneficiary in their local currency. You can send them in the mail so they’re ideal if you want to enclose the gift with a card or letter. Available in a wide range of currencies, drafts are a good option if you don't have the beneficiary’s bank account details.
For us to arrange the draft you will need to provide us the details of the person you're sending the money to (beneficiary).
- Person's full name
- Person's full street address
- Any special instructions for the transfer
- Currency and amount
To arrange a Draft, fax the transfer details to 02 6622 6433, call us on 1300 802 222 or drop into your nearest branch.
