Part of the local community
Back in 1964, the people of the Northern Rivers community were looking for a more flexible, approachable, and responsible banking alternative. Six decades later and Summerland Bank is still delivering more of what the locals want, with community at the heart of all that we do.
Bangalow Billycart Derby
The Bangalow Billycart Derby is a fantastic annual community event that brings people of all ages together for a day of fun and friendly competition, all thanks to the dedicated efforts of the Bangalow Lions Club. We were thrilled to participate once again in this beloved tradition in 2024.
Supported 'Taste the Harvest'
‘Taste the Harvest’ was held at Potager in Carool and Elements Byron Bay, showcasing the deep roots of the Northern Rivers. This event offered an opportunity to connect people in the food industry, fostering a shared sense of identity and celebrating the unique community.
Bangalow Koalas
We are proud to sponsor the Bangalow Koalas over a three-year period to support the Northern Rivers corridor. Our investment focuses on purchasing, planting, and maintaining trees to create a sustainable habitat for koalas.
Proudly raised funds for Ember
Ember was rescued from the fires in Whiporie, NSW, in 2020. After a lengthy stay with Friends of the Koala, Ember made a full recovery and now has a joey of her own.
Our Rising Stars scholarship
Awarded a new three-year scholarship to Isabella Dowd as part of Southern Cross Universities ‘Rising Stars’ program where we have been helping local students with their studies since 1994.
