Strong communities are built through collective action and meaningful support. This B Corp Month, we took the opportunity to celebrate and uplift local charities, community groups, and causes that are making a real difference.
Through our internal initiative, ‘Community Matters’, our team came together to nominate and vote for organisations that inspire us with their dedication and impact. The response was truly inspiring, with passionate nominations and thoughtful discussions reflecting the causes closest to our hearts.
To kick off the initiative, staff were invited to nominate organisations they felt deserved support. Once the nominations were in, all staff had the opportunity to vote for the causes that resonated most with them.
After a careful review and enthusiastic participation from our team, we are proud to announce that the following organisations have been selected to receive our support:
- Australian Seabird & Turtle Rescue Inc
- Dementia Inclusive Ballina
- The Evans Head Living Museum
- Kyogle FC Soccer
- Little Gems Kitty Rescue
- Nimbin Hospital Auxiliary UHA of NSW
- Northern Rivers Animal Services
- The Northern Rivers Suicide Prevention and Awareness Group
- Nurtured Village Hampers Northern Rivers
- Story Book Gardens, Legacy, South Lismore Post Office Poppies Project
- Wardell Core
The chosen organisations have received donations from Summerland Bank, helping them continue their invaluable work in our community.
For us, ‘Community Matters’ was more than just donations; it was also about fostering deeper connections with local causes, sparking important conversations, and reinforcing our commitment to social responsibility.
The impact of this initiative extends beyond a single contribution. It has inspired us to think more deeply about how we can continue to uplift and support our community in meaningful ways. The recipient organisations will be featured on our website and social media, showcasing the positive change made possible through our collective efforts.
As a proud B Corp, our dedication to the community doesn’t stop here. The success of ‘Community Matters’ has highlighted the power of collective action, and we look forward to building on this initiative in the future. Whether through donations, volunteering, or advocacy, we remain committed to being a force for good.
