A commitment to creating a positive impact.
We go beyond the traditional definition of sustainability, growing ethically and responsibly to offer a braver banking alternative for years to come. Our mission? To support our customers, grow our business, and leave a positive impact on both our community and the environment we share.
Golden Summerland.
Since 1964, Summerland Bank has championed a sustainable and planet-friendly approach. In 2008, we formalised our commitment by joining the NSW Government’s Sustainability Advantage Program. After 11 years of dedicated effort—evaluating, consulting, researching, and implementing 250 eco-initiatives—we proudly achieved Gold Partner accreditation. This recognition highlights our unwavering focus on environmental and community sustainability.
Our choices reflect our values: conserving resources, recycling diligently, and partnering with suppliers who share our eco-conscious ethos. But it doesn’t stop there. We invite others to join us in creating positive change. At Summerland, we’re not just a bank; we’re a force for good.
We love our region.
We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live and work. We pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging, and acknowledge the ongoing connection that First Nation peoples have with Australia’s land and waters.
Summerland Bank is more than just a financial institution; we’re part of this vibrant community. Let’s explore what makes our region truly special…
Heritage: From Grafton to Elanora and Kyogle to Ballina, this sacred place is where we live, work, and raise our families. Our customers are our neighbours, and together, we feel like the luckiest people on earth.
Shared identity: Beyond geography, our community thrives. We celebrate the waterways, wildlife, and the wonderfully weird. Every story matters, every voice contributes—a vibrant tapestry woven throughout our region.
Captivating landscapes: World-renowned Byron Bay beaches, ancient Nightcap National Park rainforests, and picturesque hinterland towns like Bangalow and Nimbin. Coastal and country blend here like nowhere else.
Community unity: Diverse experiences and perspectives converge. Whether from distant corners or local roots, we share a sense of place—a commitment to creating a dynamic local community.
Resilience: When floods rage or bushfires devastate, we stand strong. Resilience, strength, and unwavering commitment bind us together.
Thriving economy: Our vision extends beyond banking. A thriving local economy is our benchmark for success. As a customer-owned bank, we invest meaningfully, sharing in a long-term vision of reciprocity and abundance.
Together, we shape a brighter future—one rooted in community, sustainability, and shared purpose.
