R U OK?

Make a difference to someone’s day by asking R U OK?

As human beings, we connect with people all the time and can sense when something’s up. Staying connected and having sincere, meaningful conversations is something we can all do more of.

You don’t need to be an expert – just a good listener. Checking in with someone with the simple question, “are you ok?”, can let someone know that you do care. We all meet times when we feel overwhelmed with what life can throw at us and it’s ok to ask for help.

Sometimes just talking with someone who is genuinely willing to listen is all that’s needed. Some conversations, however, are too big for colleagues, friends and family to take on alone. That’s the time to encourage people to connect with expert support. Many workplaces offer Employee Assistance Programs offering confidential support services when needed. Another great place to start looking for support is the R U OK? website.

Connect and let someone know you care on R U OK? Day on 14 September, and keep the message alive everyday.
