We receive a myriad of sponsorship requests each year. Unfortunately we are unable to provide financial assistance to all of them. For this reason, we endeavour to share our sponsorship budget through a fair and equitable process, in a way that proves mutually beneficial for the requesting organisation, the credit union and our members. If for any reason we are unable to provide financial assistance to your organisation, we may be able to provide some non-financial assistance, by way of giveaways and/or use of our facilities.
We wish everyone in the community the best of luck with all their activities and we look forward to hearing from those we may be able to assist.
As an element of our support to our local community, our Cash 4 Clubs and Cash 4 a Cause Programs assist local, not for profit community groups and organisations with funding assistance.
Pottsville Beach Tennis Club
Coolangatta Knights Rugby League Club
Royals Hockey Club
Wollongbar Alstonville Rugby Club
Bangalow Public School
With these programs, we form a partnership with sporting clubs, charities, or other not-for-profit organisations, which allows them to earn extra cash as the relationship with Summerland strengthens over time.
The relationship has the potential to develop into a very rewarding financial return. Organisations agree to assist Summerland in promoting Summerland products including loans, investments and new memberships, to members of your Organisation. New business generated will be rewarded with donations to the Organisation.
Therefore, as the credit union's business increases, the funding provided to the Cash 4 Clubs / Cash 4 a Cause (C4C) partnering organisation also increases.

Summerland's Uni Scholarship makes a real difference to Alannah
"As I am nearing my graduation, I just wanted to take the time to sincerely thank Summerland Credit Union for providing me with the Rising Star Scholarship from 2012-2015 and give you an update on my academic progress thus far.
My final year of my Bachelor of Laws was thoroughly enjoyable. I was able to undertake electives which broadened my knowledge and further fuelled my passion for international human rights. My interest and dedication to achieving high results in these international law and human rights based units resulted in a year of high academic achievements. I received the Southern Cross University Recognition of Academic Excellence Award for 2015 and was top placing for 3 units in 2015. At the beginning of the year, I was also informed that I was awarded the Academic Excellence Award for Wills and Estates as a result of my top placing of the unit in 2014. I completed my last unit for my Bachelor of Laws in January this year and I am looking forward to my graduation ceremony on 21st May this year.
In October 2015, I commenced studies for my Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at Australian National University. I am almost finished the theory side to the course however I am currently undertaking 80 days of legal placement at a local law firm in Ballina, as a requirement of the course. This course and placement has allowed me to develop my practical legal knowledge and skills which I am grateful for. I have maintained a Higher-level Performance assessment grading thus far and I expect to be completed the requirements for the Diploma in early August. I hope to be admitted as a lawyer in October of this year to further my employment opportunities. With this course I am able to continue on and obtain a Masters of Legal Practice, however, I am still undecided as to whether this is a course of action I wish to undertake given the additional study requirements which will limit my work availability.
I am currently looking into graduate programs and employment opportunities to commence after my studies. I still hope to attain a career in the field of international human rights one day. I again want to sincerely thank Summerland Credit Union for their support during my Bachelor of Laws degree at Southern Cross University. I am extremely appreciative for the support as I would not have been able to focus on my studies and achieve the academic results I have which have placed me in the position I am today.
Here's what one of our past recipients had to say about her Summerland Scholarship.
Just letting you know what has happened to me since I finished my teaching course and left uni last year. I am going on an adventure with my teaching career. I have been posted to Katherine School of the Air, NT. I flew into Darwin on Friday 19th January 2007 and stared work on January 29th. It's certainly going to be an exciting life experience for me!
I really appreciate all the help Summerland Credit Union gave me during my course. It's made a huge difference to my life.
